A broken freezer that belonged to this Banksy artwork was replaced with a new one following the broken freezer being removed twice this week.
The freezer was initially put in storage on Tuesday afternoon by Thanet District Council on the grounds of safety, to ensure that members of the public could not become trapped inside it.
However, the appliance was removed by London-based Red Eight Galleries on Wednesday evening to ensure the integrity of the artwork, which they intend to dismantle and display.
Despite this, a new chest freezer has appeared in its place, but it has not been confirmed who has installed it here.
The mural shows a 1950s housewife with a swollen eye and missing tooth, apparently shutting a man in a freezer.
Banksy published a picture of the work on his Instagram page on Valentine’s Day morning, and many of the comments suggest he is referencing fighting violence against women.
The elusive Bristol-based artist, who captioned the piece “Valentine’s Day mascara”, showcased pictures showing a close-up of the woman smiling, with a seemingly bruised face.
